Day 9 - Roye's Pump Organ

My wife's mother had and unusual name. Her name was Roylance. Roye to everyone in the family. Growing up on a small farm in rural Iowa, my wife remembers listening to her mother play a Kimbal pump organ. She even remembers her mother letting her lay on the floor and work the foot pumps with her hands. Roye passed away in 1987. A few years ago, after letting the owner of the little farmhouse know that she would like to buy the organ if it ever came available, my wife got a phone call... on Mother's Day. It was the son of the owner of the farmhouse and the organ. He said his father had passed away and the organ was hers if she wanted it. Needles to say, it's been in our home ever since.

The beauty and workmanship of 100 years ago is truly wonderful.
