Day 10 - Simplex Time Recorder

My parents had family friends by the name of Heinley. Jerry Heinley worked for The Bemis Bag Company. Bemis made paper and fabric bags for industrial and agricultural use. In 1974, Jerry took a position in Amherst, New Hampshire. Jerry was a "fixer" he went into facilities that had problems and made them run efficiently. As part of his job in Amherst, he headed up the cleanup of a very old plant. Under a basement stairway, under piles of bags he found an old Time Clock that was covered in paint. He knew that my parents were antique lovers, so he presented the clock to them as a house warming gift when they moved into a new home in Minneapolis. I happened to be visiting for my daughter's baptism. After removing the old paint and giving it a good cleaning, it looked like this. To our delight, it keeps perfect time.

It hung in their home for 30 years and has had a home in ours ever since.

Every body is aware of the importance of time clock. They are really wonderful in recording the timing of the employees and keep an electronic data of the same.
