Along the east coast of Lake Michigan runs a windy road called the "Tunnel of Trees". The twenty-eight mile drive winds from just north of Travers City, to just short of the Mackinac Bridge. It added about three hours to the trip, but was well worth it. With next to no traffic and a beautiful view around every turn, I drove as slowly as I wanted and stopped often to walk and take pictures. I did not want the trip to end.
