This seems really early for harvest time. I grew up in Illinois, where corn was being harvested in November. 
Maybe it's the exesssive heat this year that has it ready early, but whatever the reason, it's being cut in Southern Kansas.
I did hear today today that record corn harvest is expected for Kansas.
