Black and White

Since I got my first darkroom set for Christmas as a child, I have always had a darkroom, either at home or where I worked.

Black and White photography... The smell of the chemicals, fixer stains on my hands and brown stained fingernails have been a great enjoyment to me.

It's no wonder I have so many black and white photos kicking around.

In the winter of 2000, it snowed in Des Moines on December 9th and the snow did not melt until April. Here are some pictures I took that winter.

oh home.... the smell of a darkroom...the red light, the buzzer, the slow trickle of water in the sink, the line of freshly developed-still-wet prints hanging on the line to dry.

I miss those days!
