It's easy to take old barns for granted. They are beautiful pieces of our country's past. At the rate we are losing our beautiful rustic old barns, they will be gone in another 50 years or so. I try to photograph them whenever I get a chance.
Many barns, once proud pieces of rural architecture are left to decay and are only shadows of their former selves.
There is a sadness in the broken windows and pealing paint
and a strange loneliness in the texture of the paintless wood.
This cattle barn was eliminated in order to build condos.
This one was replaced by ... a Target store... Hmmmmm!
